“ In the summer of 2005, I made the life-changing decision to move from my 1400 sq ft house in York SC, filled with antiques and family furniture and the usual clutter, into a small city apartment ‘up north’. But how to go about it? The prospect seemed overwhelming to me.

“Everyone admires the beautiful street clock in historic  downtown York SC. The clock was purchased and donated to the City of York by the Yorkville Historical Society. Ken was one of the people primarily responsible for the success of this endeavor.

When YHS decided to purchase this $20,000 clock, we were leary about our ability to raise the money. Ken suggested holding a benefit auction and donated his services. We held two auctions and a yard sale with his guidance and know-how. The auctions and the clock project were a great success. We all enjoyed working with Ken on the planning and then doing the benefit auctions. Ken is terrific to work with…he is a great organizer and very proficient in everything he does.

I also enjoy attending Ken’s auctions. I usually see old neighbors and friends. I enjoy the fun of the auction and usually go home with things that I did not know I needed. I truly recommend Ken.”

In March of 2008, I contacted Ken to discuss my needs of selling the  contents of my mother’s household. I live in Minnesota and her home was in South Carolina so it was going to be a chore for me…until I met Ken! Ken was a pleasure to work with. We corresponded by email to learn more about what his business does and he was always quick to respond and made the process easy for me to understand. He adjusted his schedule to meet with me when I came into town for a few days to get the house ready to be put on the market. Ken walked through the home with me and  made a list of the furniture that I needed him to include in his auction. He took photos so he could market the items. He and his wife came to the house at a later date and took photos of the china, silver, glasses, etc of my mother’s collections. They packed the items carefully and took them with them. I returned to MN and felt very comfortable that everything was in good hands. A day or so before the action, Ken came and picked up the furniture. He kept me posted on his progress and sent me links to the marketing of the auction. He called me when the auction was complete to let me know the great grand total for the auction was. He even remembered to pull out a piece that I had forgotten to take with me that had a strong, emotional meaning to me. He then carefully mailed that to me. It is now proudly displayed in our home. Within a few days, I received a check and an inventory of what sold and at what price. It was difficult to part with some of the items my parents had collected over lifetime together. We were able to retain the things that meant the most to us. Ken was there to take care of the rest. Ken made a long distance, emotional project a simple and very productive task. I highly recommend Ken and his services. You will not be disappointed!

 "I moved to the South from California about 3 years ago. I was lucky to have Ken Spaulding as my Realtor. My purchase and closing went smoothly. Ken even kept on eye on my house until I was ready to complete my move. About a month after I had settled in to my new home Ken invited me to one of his auctions. I had never been to an auction and was a complete novice to the art of bidding. I can still remember the day-sunny and hot! I bought so many nice items that I had to have a friend bring his pick up truck so I could get them all home. Needless to say I was now hooked. Ken’s auctions are always a highlight and time well spent. About 6 months ago I rounded up some extra things I had to add to one of his auctions. Ken came and packed everything up, loaded it into his truck and hauled it away for me. About 3 days after the auction I received a nice check from Ken. It was much more than I had ever expected or could have possibly ever gotten if had tried to sell my things at a garage sale or a consignment shop. If you haven’t attended one of Ken’s auctions I highly recommend that you give it a try. At Ken’s auctions the atmosphere is fun, the food is yummy and the prices can not be beat."
